Daniel holds degree-level qualifications in engineering and law and has over 20 years’ experience across engineering projects, building and facilities management, and real estate agency management.

He brings a strong strategic and governance-focused perspective to the business, drawing on his engineering and legal background to guide decision-making, risk management, and long-term operational planning across our facilities management and real estate services.

Daniel has served as Secretary of the Owners Corporation for a commercial building in Melbourne’s CBD since 2008 and has worked through a number of significant issues faced by the Owners Corporation. The strategies developed during this time achieved strong owner support and successfully resolved those issues, and have since been applied to benefit other Owners Corporations engaged with MCBDFM.

Lachlan Vella

Director – Manager – Real Estate Service Delivery

Lachlan is an experienced commercial property and facilities management professional, as well as a Licensed Real Estate Agent, with more than 15 years of experience across building operations, leasing, property management and integrated service delivery.

As Officer in Effective Control of Melbourne CBD Real Estate, he plays a key role in aligning facilities management with leasing, tenancy management and broader property objectives. This coordinated approach ensures operational issues, tenant requirements and compliance matters are considered alongside the commercial performance of each asset.

Lachlan has extensive practical knowledge of building services, contractor management, compliance, budgeting, tenant engagement and the day-to-day operation of commercial properties. He works closely with owners and stakeholders to improve service delivery, identify issues early and support the efficient operation and long-term performance of their assets.

His combined expertise in commercial real estate and facilities management enables him to provide a strategic, whole-of-building approach to operations, leasing and tenant retention.
